لذلك فهي تدس رأسها في الرمال بين الحين والآخر من أجل التصنت على الذبذبات التي ينتشر صداها في الأرض من مسافات بعيدة لوقع خطوات الحيوانات الخطرة والاعداء وتميز أيضاً الإتجاه الذي تأتي من ناحيته تلك الأصوات، فتكون حافز لها على الهرب في الإتجاه الذي يضمن سلامتها.
